An e-commerce platform by Erajaya Group that enables users to purchase items online or collect them from nearby retail stores.

In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic led to a 650% revenue increase for Eraspace, prompting stakeholders to see it as a comprehensive digital product. By mid-2021, as the Eraspace team assembled, Erajaya aimed to become the leading Online-to-Offline (O2O) retail company in Indonesia's digital market.

Platform Revamp

What Is It?

An effort to Revamp the whole experience of the ecosystem using a human-centered design approach, and also benchmarking with another e-commerce platform that users are already familiar with.

Leading the UX writing team to ensure a seamless user experience with clear, readable, and concise content.

Creating the UX Writing Playbook

The UX Writing Playbook serves as a microcopy guideline and design system for UX Writers.

I initiated the creation of this because when I joined the team as the first UX Writer Lead, there was no rigid design system for the entire digital team to use, resulting in much inconsistency and confusion when deciding what microcopy to write for a UI. Hence, the creation of this is essential to ensure consistency and enable future use, as it is an open live document format.

How We Do It:
Conduct interviews with decision-makers (C-level and other managers), discuss the guidelines with the UX writing team, and coordinate with the UI designer and developer teams to ensure that all stakeholders are aware of this guideline.
Challenge We Face:
With the release of the UX writing playbook, the primary challenge is consistently updating and implementing new elements across the ecosystem. As the business grows, the team must ensure that the new digital platform aligns with this playbook.

Making the Content Guideline

This content guideline ensures optimal readability and consistency across the platform.

When I joined the team, I found that the digital content on the platform lacked specific guidelines, particularly for the marketing and creative teams, to ensure consistency in color, size, and other elements. Through brainstorming with various product and creative teams, we developed guidelines to ensure consistency and visual appeal.

How We Do It:
Benchmarking with another similar platform, conducting A/B testing of all the guides with the internal team, and hypothesizing on possible scenarios.
Challenge We Face:
Ensuring that this guideline is being implemented in the workflow, providing knowledge to other stakeholders on the importance of this guideline, and refining procedures based on product development.

The Result

💡EraSpace's UI and UX have undergone significant improvements through extensive testing and research, resulting in a more user-friendly experience.

💡Me and my team developed a playbook for tailored messages in user interactions, such as notifications and error messages, while optimizing space for better visual appeal.
